Abstract
300,137. Iochum, G. Nov. 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Force-feed lubricating.-In a four-stroke-cycle internal-combustion engine, a number of cylinders 2 are arranged with their axes parallel to the shaft 1. Oppositely-moving pistons in each cylinder drive on to crank shaft 8; planet wheels 6 fast on the crank shaft gear, with a fixed wheel 5, one at each end of the shaft. Oil collects by centrifugal force in the channel 36 on the inside of the crank case 4; it is pumped from thence bv worms 34 towards the centre of the engine to lubricate the moving parts.
