Two-stroke-cycle engines; driving- gear; cylinders, passages of.-Coaxial cylinders are arranged one or more on each side of a central crankshaft to which the pistons are connected by pin-and-slot mechanism. Charges are compressed in the ends of the cylinders remote from the combustion spaces, the compressed charges being transferred from the pump spaces to the combustion chambers through passages 21 formed by detachable cover-plates. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 144,852, 145,217, 149,357, and 149,809.
