212,827. Wheeler, F. R. Aug. 20, 11323. Medicines for internal use.-A poultry medicine and food mixture is obtained by heating compound mixture of senna in a copper pan over a water bath to 60‹ F., stirring in extract of liquorice, heating to 100‹ F., adding oil of aniseed and oil of eucalyptus and heating the whole to 300‹ F. The mixture is cooled to 250‹ F., and a hot mixture of syrup of squills and essential oil of camphor is added and finally there is added a mixture of glycerine and turpentine. The preferred proportions are 2 ounces of compound mixture of senna, 1 ounce of liquid extract of liquorice, 1 drachm each of oil of aniseed, oil of eucalyptus, and oil of turpentine, 3 drachms of essential oil of camphor, ¢ ounce of syrup of squills, and 4 ounces of glycerine. One to two teaspoonfuls may be added to a mash for one hundred birds.
