Abstract

A stable lecithin emulsion for therapeutic purposes comprises a mixture of vegetable or animal lecithin, fatty oil and water and pine oil, or a mixture of pine oil and oil of turpentine, terpenes or terpineols, with the optional addition of paraffin oil. The material known as soya sludge obtained in the treatment of soya beans and consisting of an emulsion of lecithin, oil and water may be used in the preparation. The emulsion is stated to be useful for application to the skin in the treatment of rheumatism and to prevent sunburn.
