Abstract

501,752. Preparations for treating the scalp. OVERILL, S. Sept. 3, 1937, No. 24103. [Class 81 (i)] A preparation for promoting the growth of hair comprises an animal fat (or fats), an extract of bran, vegetable oil, finely divided sulphur and a volatile solvent. The animal fat may be mixed with the bran and cooked with a small proportion of water. The fatty fraction so obtained being separated and mixed with vegetable oil, sulphur and the solvent. A proportion of hard wax, e.g. paraffin wax, and essential oil may be added. In an example, the fat comprises a mixture of beef and pig fat, the oil is castor oil and the solvent absolute alcohol.
