Refrigerating, absorption machines for. - In a machine working on the reversing system without valves and comprising a generator - absorber a, a condenser coil e and an evaporator f, the lower end of the pipe g leading from the coil e to the vessel f is sealed by the condensed refrigerating medium to prevent the return of gas through the condenser during the absorption period. As shown in Fig. 1, the seal is effected by forming the tube g with a loop h terminating near the bottom of the evaporator, whilst in the modified arrangement shown in Fig. 2, a liquid seal l is provided, preferably arranged within the cooling range of the evaporator. The generator-absorber is provided with electric heating elements band a cooling device c, and the refrigerant vapour returns from the evaporator through the pipe i. A water separator may be arranged between the generatorabsorber and the condenser.
