Abstract
210,619. Foulds & Son, Ltd., T., and Riley, W. Jan. 29, 1923. Change-box motions; shuttle-boxes. -In looms having horizontally-movable change boxes a shuttle box C is used comprising two shuttle compartments c', c<2> formed by adjustable brackets C', C<2> screwed to a slide C<3>. The box is moved to place one or the other compartments into operative position by means of levers A carrying hooked levers D, D', which are connected by lever mechanism to dobby levers. The hooked levers D, D' may thus be allowed to fall into position to engage a stationary bar H whereby as the lay moves one or the other lever D, D<1> is operated and the levers A are turned to move the shuttle box. The bar H can slide in slots h against the action of springs h<2> in case a shuttle jambs. The levers A are provided with a balance weight W and engage spring-controlled notched bars B<2>. The brackets C, C<2> are provided with springs c<3>, c<4>. A modification is described wherein the levers D, D' are controlled from a separate pattern cylinder. The slide C<3> moves through slots in the lay. According to the Provisional Specification, the shuttle may be operated by straps or cords or by a bar or double lever, and the shuttle box has a division plate furnished with a spring, the movement of the box being limited by stops.
