Abstract

26,516. Lister, F. C. Dec. 8. Loom shuttle guards.-The protector bar 1, which is supported at each end by a lever mounted in an adjustable bracket on the hand-rail 4, is also supported intermediately by one or more levers 6<A> carried by gudgeons 6 on brackets 5<A>. The parts 6<B> of the levers 6<A> are pressed by springs 7 against projections 5<C>, which prevent movement of the bar 1 when in its operative position, as shown. When the bar 1 is moved into its inoperative position, the springs 7 are stretched, and pass slightly to the right, beyond the centres of the gudgeons 6, but are jerked back again when the loom is started. The stressed springs then move the bar 1 into its operative position.
