Abstract
An agglutinant for combustible briquettes is made by melting acid resins with an alkaline substance such as finely ground caustic lime and passing a current of air through the heated mass until a sample shows the required degree of hardness. In an example 100 parts by weight of acid resins are melted with 2-10 parts of caustic lime (the proportion depending on the acidity of the resin employed) the mixture being heated to 200-250 DEG C. for several hours whilst air is passed through the mass.
