Abstract
715,468. Composition fuel. PARTICOM SOC. ANON. Oct. 6, 1950 [July 25, 1950], No. 24441/50. Class 50 Smokeless fuel briquettes are made by mixing a powdered solid fuel with a binder consisting of the residuum of the distillation of cellulose lye called rosin pitch, tall pitch or sulphate pitch, heating the mixture to plasticize the binder and then briquetting. In an example, 95 parts of ground coal slack were mixed mechanica.:lywith 5 parts of ground pitch whilst superheated steam was blown into the mixture, the heat causing the pitch to so ten and to coat the coal particles. The hot mixture was then briquetted.
