Platen machines.-A device for printing on the top sheet of a pile prior to feeding the sheet to a machine, such as a wrapping-machine for tobacco, consists of a printing-surface 48 which is normally raised by a spring and is depressed by a lever 50 actuated by a cam on the main driving-shaft 12 of the machine. An ink-ribbon is arranged under the stamp 48 and is automatically fed by the machine. Specification 210,226, [Class 100 (i), Feeding and delivering webs &c.], is referred to.
