Abstract

208,543. Vellino, C. Dec. 13, 1922, [Convention date]. Cam actuated pumps ; double-acting and multipleacting bucket pumps.-The piston is actuated with uniform velocity by means of a heart-shaped cam. The pump may comprise two bucket pistons t, t<1> reciprocated in communicating barrels s, s<1> by a pair of heart-shaped cams p, p<1>. In another form the two buckets work in two separate parallel barrels, and the return stroke is effected by springs or grooved cams. The cams may be shaped as shown in Fig. III. so that, during a short period while the valves are opening, the two pistons move in the same direction.
