Tapping casks and other vessels; bungs and bushes for bung holes. - A sealing and tapping device for barrels, tanks &c., comprises a cylindrical bush B with an external buttress or vee thread A having at its lower part a, ledge C and a groove. D for receiving a frangible capsule L of tin, aluminium, brass, cork &c. which is pressed on the ledge and expanded into the groove by the shaped end G of a sleeve F which screws into the bush B and is bored taper or parallel to take a tap. The capsule has two depressions arranged at right angles across the middle so that when the tap is driven in and punctures the disc it is torn into four segments.
