[Class 21] A venting plug for a cask &c. comprises a threaded body 14 with an air vent passage 11 closed by a spring valve 13, a screw 16 serving to close the vent in order to prevent unauthorized withdrawal of the contents. A ball valve or a conical valve may be used. A washer 8 ensures a tight joint.
