Abstract

323,811. Brenner, J. G., and Casani, S. Oct. 13, 1928. Stoppers with valves. -In a closure for canisters, collapsable tubes &c. having a discharge neck a and screw cap b, the neck is left plain and cylindrical as at a<1> for a distance equal to two or three threads from its top end and the cap is correspondingly shaped so that the plain parts engage like a piston and cylinder in both the closed and open positions of the cap, the arrangement preventing leakage of the contents of the canister &c. along the, screw threads. Discharge apertures are. provided in the end of the neck and a central one in the cap, this latter being closed by a conical boss a<2> on the neck which in the closed position lies flush with the surface of the cap. A coil spring d, protected by a downward extension of the cap, automatically returns the cap to the closed position and prevents its complete removal but this latter may be effected by an mturned flange and the spring be omitted.
