Abstract

1,074,165. Bunghole bushes; tapping casks; stoppers. SURE FORM PLASTICS Ltd. May 16, 1966 [June 1, 1965], No. 23369/65. Heading B8T. A plastics bung for a hole in a cask has a peripheral lip 6 to engage the outside of the cask wall and another lip 11 to engage the inside cask wall and another lip 11 to engage the inside of the cask wall, a flexible portion 10 of the bung permitting it to be driven into the hole. Radial ribs 7 connect the lip 6 to a central boss 8, the latter surrounding a weakened diaphragm 9 which can be pierced by a tap &c.
