Abstract

Sleepers, composite; sound and vibration, preventing.-Reinforced-concrete sleepers are trapezoidal in section with a narrow side comprising the base at the centre and ends and a wide side comprising the base at the rail seat, the sleeper being reinforced by longitudinal iron rods enveloped by an iron network; pairs of wire coils receive the coach screws which secure the rails as described in Specification 3530/07. The chairplate F rests on a pad G of compressed asphalted cardboard or asbestos millboard. Transverse holes E are provided for handling the sleeper.
