Sleepers, composite; chair plates.-A non-reinforced concrete sleeper 1, substantially inverted- T shape in cross-section, has sloping sides 2 and integral enlargements 3 at the rail seats, which are provided with recesses 4 for wooden cushions 5. The cushions carry metal plates having transverse anti-rail spreading lugs on their upper surfaces.
