The connection consists of bars b of iron or reinforced-concrete connected to members d projecting from the sleepers a and embedded in concrete c, a gap g being left forming a resilient joint. The central bars may be reduced in cross-section at some part. the gaps being omitted. In a modification, the members d of two sLeepers are connected centrally and embedded in concrete, leaving a gap at each sleeper or in the centre of the track.
