Chairs with fixed jaws; chair plates; tie-bars ; sound and vibration prevent - ing.-Resilient chairs formed from a bar of metal have splayed legs supported clear of the sleeper and con - nected by curved portions with the rail seating. For double-headed rails, the chair is adapted to receive a single key, Fig. 1, the rail jaw 3 stopping short of the rail head, while the legs 2 are straight or curved. Separate tie-bars used with pot sleepers may be attached to each leg, passing between the rail seating 4 and the sleeper, or may be attached to one leg, in which case the tiebar 26, Fig. 6, may be twisted, and hooked at 27 and secured by a slotted wedge 28 and a bolt 29 to a lug 25 stamped from the leg 22. Means are provided for preventing the legs from spreading.
