Abstract

227,749. Scheibe, R. Sept. 14, 1923. Sleepers, metal, and securing rails thereto. - Rails 10 are secured to hollow resilient sleepers 11 by clamps 2 resting at their ends on the rail and sleeper and secured by bolts 6 out of the centre of the clamp, the bolts being at least 27 mm. in diameter and the clamps being at least 20 mm. thick when made of material having a breaking strength of 4100 kgms. per sq. cm., the pressure on the rail being at least 5500 kgms. per sq. cm. on each side of the rail. Each clamp has a recess 4, a rib 5 and lateral lugs 3. The sleeper described in Specification 225,947 is referred to.
