Abstract
206,700. Constantinesco, G. Nov. 7, 1922. Variable-speed gearing rendered automatic by the action of an oscillating mass, as described in Specification 185,022, is provided with means to maintain the mean position of the parts for either direction of rotation of the driven shaft. The floating lever d connected at its middle to a driving connecting-rod c is connected at its ends by links e<1>, 1 to similar levers g, 2 depending from fixed pivots h, 3. The oscillating mass k is secured to the crank-link e<1>. The oscillating system is prevented from undue displacement to either side by stops n, 5 butting against the upper extensions m, 4 of the levers g, 2. The reversible ratchets driving the shaft x may be of the kind described in Specification 205,293.
