Abstract
203,940. Sunbeam Motor Car Co., Ltd., Coatalen, L., and Cooper, J. A. Oct. 27, 1922. Hoods and weather screens.-In a four-seater vehicle provided with two front doors, a hood, - and side windows, the hood being provided with - horizontal folding cant-rail supported by hinged pillars, the portion C<2> of the cant-rail is provided with an extension C<7> adapted to be engaged by the other portion C preferably by means of a slotted aperture and a cone nut C<10>, and preferably the front bow of the cant-rail is adapted to ,engage with the rigid pillars G of the windscreen by means ot spigots which enter the ends of the hollow pillars. The toggle system of links E, E<2> connecting the two parts of the cant-rail are provided with a hoop F above the front pillars A but not touching them. The windows are arranged to slide in the doors D' and in the sides of the vehicle. Those in the sides may be guided in felt-lined channels, but those for the doors are provided with metal guide strips which rise with the window into guides in the front pillar A and in a member fixed to the door and hinged to the wind-screen pillar G.
