Abstract

202,532. Germot, A. Sept. 8, 1922. Sulphur.-Sulphur is extracted from antimony tri-sulphide by dissociation at a high temperature in the absence of air without the intermediate formation of oxide of antimony. The tri-sulphide is charged into a compartment a of an electric furnace heated by resistances r and flows through an opening o into a lower compartment b wherein dissociation takes place. The vapours of the sulphide and of sulphur pass up inclined flues c wherein the dissociation is completed and the sulphur passes on to be sublimed in a compartment d.
