Abstract

Liquid hydrocarbons obtained by distilling heavy hydrocarbons at temperatures not above 500 DEG C., the heavy hydrocarbons or the vapours being in contact with pebbles or non-reacting metals such as iron, copper, or nickel, are freed from sulphur, free carbon and other impurities by treatment with oxygen, ozonized air, or ozonized oxygen. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 17371/99, 22430/06, 127,918, 226,188, and 263,186, [all in Class 91, Oils &c.].
