Abstract
227,223. Hancock, L. J., and Hancock, T. R. Oct. 23, 1923. Resistance furnaces.-A furnace heated by carbon rods 4 located in a space 3 surrounding a chamber 1 containing the material to be heated but entirely separate therefrom, is provided with means for passing a current of inert or reducing gas through the space containing the carbon rods. The furnace shown is of the kind described in Specification 190,222, the space 3 being provided with an inlet 6 and an outlet 7 for inert gas.
