Hasp locks; reversible locks.--The tumbler of a hasp lock can be arranged on either side of a stump arranged symmetrically with respect to the bolt, according to whether a right or left hand lock is required, one symmetricallyarranged key pin being employed in either case. In one form, Fig. 2, the stump p is on the bolt f and co-operates with the lug o of the loose tumbler e which moves with the bolt. If the lug o is moved to the opposite side of the stump p to that shown in Fig. 2, by means of the key, the bolt can be retracted by the usual sliding knob in which is cut the keyhole. This knob has projections engaging recesses k in the bolt. In another form, Fig. 4, the stump p is fixed to the casing and the bolt moves without the tumbler. In the position shown, the tumbler shoulder s blocks the head l of the bolt. If the key is turned to position the lug o at the other side of the stump p, the shoulder s no longer blocks the bolt, which can then be slid back. To reverse the lock, the tumbler is placed on the other side of the abutment and the lock inverted.
