Abstract

201,546. R³d, J. July 28, 1922, [Convention date]. Teeth, artificial. - A denture a is provided with a continuous groove b to receive a removable elastic insertion c making close contact with the gums or palate d so as to give improved suction. The groove may be arranged round the edges of the denture, or two grooves may be arranged, either one within the other, or so as to provide two enclosed spaces side by side. The strip c and the flexible metal strip e, Fig. 2, whereby the groove is formed in moulding a vulcanite denture, may be endless or may be cut from a length of material. The strip c is exchangeable and is formed with a bead to engage a suitably shaped part of the groove b. The metal strip e is formed with a bore f in order that the strip may be sufficiently deformed to allow of its removal from the finished denture.
