Teeth, artificial.-Pink rubber gum facings for artificial teeth are manufactured in the form of partly vulcanized strips with scalloped edges ready to fit the teeth, and are applied to the wax model and the teeth before the flasking operation. The strip a is formed with scallops b which are kneaded on to the teeth, and with ridges c in imitation of the natural gums, and may extend entirely round the set of teeth or be applied to the central portion of the denture only. The facing- strips may be strengthened by incorporating fibres of cotton, silk, or asbestos, or by the application of wire net or perforated metal to the facing or to the base or red rubber at the back of the pink facing-strip.
