Abstract

1335503 Artificial teeth J CORBINEAU 20 March 1972 [25 March 1971] 13025/72 Heading A5R A method of making a tooth crown comprises making a temporary crown from a cap 6 of plastics material, providing it with a chewing surface 7 of a soft metal such as tin, attaching this crown to a tooth stump 10 and leaving it in the patient's mouth for several days so that the chewing surface conforms to the proper shape of the tooth, and then taking an impression of the crown and moulding a permanent crown of a harder metal such as gold. The cap 6 is fixed to the tooth stump by self-polymerising resin 11. A bridge arrangement may be employed whereby two crowns are fitted to tooth stumps, and an intermediate crown fixed between them. Such a crown may be fixed to an artificial tooth stump.
