Abstract
209,165. Thomas, W. L., and Masters, V. Oct. 3, 1922. Teeth, artificial.-Complete or substantiallycomplete factory-made sets of upper and lower teeth are supplied in pairs having the individual teeth of each set rigidly connected together ready for application as a whole to the wax base in making dentures and so arranged that the teeth of the upper set are in correct occlusal position with regard to those of the corresponding lower set. The teeth may be pin teeth, diatoric teeth, crowns, or of other form, may be formed integrally. or may be rigidly connected by means of wire, cast metal, vulcanite, porcelain &c., and are preferably of anatomical form. In manufacture the individual teeth are arranged in a matrix or mould made from a set of teeth which have been correctly articulated in the usual manner, and whilst in position in the matrix are connected together by a strip of wax so that they may be removed from the mould in one piece, invested, and the wax replaced by metal, vulcanite &c. in the usual manner. In use the bite is taken as usual, the models are set up on an articulator, the lower set is secured in position on the lower wax base, the upper set is placed in position on the lower set and lightly waxed thereto, the articulator is then closed and the teeth waxed to the upper base-plate.
