Abstract
495,288. Dentures. ZULL, F. M. March 30, 1938, No. 9789. [Class 81 (ii)] In a method of forming dentures provided with vacuum cups, the cups 3, comprising a wire gauze disc 2 soldered to a screwed stud 1 and embedded in the rubber of the cup, are placed in position on the gums with grooved cap-nuts 4 screwed on to the studs, the nuts being then embedded in impression material 7 applied to the gum by the usual tray 6. The cups are then unscrewed from the nuts and replaced by screws 9 and model material 10 is moulded into the impression 7. The impression material 7 is then broken away, the nuts removed and replaced on the screws 9 over shields 11 which are employed to produce recesses 13 in the denture 12 which is formed on the model 10. The screws 9 are then removed and the studs of the cups inserted in the nuts 4 embedded in the denture.
