457,186. Artificial teeth. WACKER, F., 52, Mainzer Landstrasse, Frankfort-on- Main, Germany. Feb. 18, 1935, No. 5242. Application for addition to 405,297. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 17, 1935]. [Class 81 (ii)] The porcelain portion of an artificial tooth of the kind described in the parent Specification is so formed that the recess in the tooth which receives the pin on the backing lies at an angle to the tooth axis. This construction permits the tooth to be formed in a twopart mould 1, 2, wherein the tooth forming cavities 7, 8 lie on inclined faces 3, 4 connecting the stepped horizontal contact surfaces 5, 6. The tooth recess is formed by a pin 12 on the mould part 1. Moulds may be used having a number of pairs of recesses so as to produce a series of, for instance, incisor and canine teeth. Teeth of different sizes may have parts of uniform size to fit the backings; thus the arched surface 9 formed by the part 16 of the mould shown in Fig. 1 may extend to the sides of the tooth as shown in Fig. 4, or may, in larger teeth, be continued as a straight portion formed by the part 15 of the mould.
