Direct air-pressure apparatus, automatic; exhaust devices; valves for pressure fluid, actuation and arrangement of.-In pulsometers, montejus, &c. of the kind in which the loaded valve 2 supplying pressure fluid is partly opened by the pressure of air trapped in the pressure vessel by the rising liquid and the opening is completed against an increased load by the pressure fluid so admitted, the valve is loaded by a weighted lever 12 having a bearing fulcrum 13 on which the lever turns during the initial opening of the valve and a second fulcrum 16 which comes into operation during the main opening and increases the load on the valve. The fulcrum 16 may be vertically adjusted by a screw 17. The lever may carry two weights 18, 19 which act differentially during the initial opening of the valve and collectively during the main opening. Or a single weight mav be mounted on the lever between the fulcrum 13 and the abutment 7. The abutment may he adjustably carried by a diaphragm attached to the valve and acted on by the pressure fluid. The pipe 22 for the escape of air during the filling of the vessel supports a ball valve 24 and has perforations 26 through which the air may escape to the outlet pipe 23. During the pressure phase, the valve 24 is forced up to a seat 25 and closes the pipe 23.
