Abstract
187,842. Peebles, W. C. Oct. 25, 1921. Pressure-regulating valves.-A diaphragm actuated pressure-regulating valve is loaded by a weighted lever so arranged that in the event of the diaphragm being damaged the loading lever is automatically detached from the valve spindle. The double beat valve A, B is closed by outlet pressure acting on a diaphragm E against the action of a weighted lever K. The fulcrum of this lever has rollers M riding on a curved surface N in a slotted bracket P so that an abnormal lift of the valve spindle causes an arm T on the lever to engage a stop U when further movement causes the rollers to run down the surface N and disengage the forked end R from the valve spindle D.
