Seats, valve members. and faces.-The seating of a stop valve is carried by a member which screws into the partition extending across the casing, and which is screw-threaded to receive the screwed spindle. The valve seats upon the pressure side of the partition. The casing is provided with inlet a and outlet b separated by a partition c. A hollow member j screws into the upper side of the partition c, and receives a separate seating p on the under side. The valve r is loosely mounted on the spindle f, which screws into the upper part of the hollow member. This member may be removed bodily, carrying the valve seat and valve, for the purpose of repairs. In large valves, the spindle f may be in two parts, the upper part entering a square socket u in the lower part.
