Abstract

195,797. Anderson, G. Jan. 19, 1922. Plug-cocks. - A conical plug-cock is provided with both operating means and means for holding the plug in its socket on the smaller end of the plug. The plug 3 is provided with a square stem 4 which receives the boss 7 of a handle 6, and a nut 10 secures the handle and the plug in position. If the cock is not provided with a handle, the boss 7 is replaced by a washer 7<a>, Fig. III., which is squared at 12 to receive a spanner. A spring washer 11 may be interposed between the nut 10 and boss 7. An opening 13 is provided in the boss 7 for the admission of lubricant, and a screwed cap 16 may cover the larger end of the plug to exclude dirt and to force grease between the plug and its socket.
