Abstract
257,485. Panhofer, P. Jan. 15, 1926. Oil - hole closures; gravity - feed lubricators. - A cap 14 adapted to close a fillin opening 3 in the main cover plate 2 of a lubricating-cup 1 is carried by a lever 18 pivoted on the plate 2, a spring-loaded cylindrical member 8 mounted in a chamber 6 in the plate co-operating with the lever to hold the cap 14 in either the closed or open position. The member 8 is provided with an operating handle 12 and has a flat 9 corresponding to a projection 7 at the top of the chamber 6. As shown in Fig. 9, the cap 4 is held in the closed position by the engagement of the member 8, pressed by a spring 23, with the conical end surface 21 of the lever. To lift the cap, the member 8 is depressed, the projection 11 of the handle 12 causing the lever 18 to turn about its axis and entering a recess 19 therein. By turning the member 8 through a small angle, a recess 10 therein engages under the projection 7 and maintains the parts in the position shown in Fig. 10. An adjustable screw 16 in the cap controls the, movements of a vibratory valve 29 in the cup.
