Abstract

487,034. Plug cocks. ROBINSON & CO. (LIVERPOOL), Ltd., J. H., ROBINSON, S., and SEDGWICK, H. Dec. 20, 1937, No. 35166. [Class 135] A through-way plug cock comprises a hollow plug 11 with a separate end wall 18 at the end opposite to that at which it is manually operated, and a niting pin 17 which holds this end wall in position and projects from the lower end of the plug into a recess 16 in the inner face of the base of the plug barrel 10. The niting 17 has a flange 17a for holding the wall 18 and is threaded into the upper end of the plug at 17b. The recess 16 is of quadrant shape. When two niting pins are provided, these are received in diametrically opposite quadrant recesses. The plug is held on its seat by a spring washer 23 which abuts a threaded collar 20. The latter is split at 21 and may be locked in place after adjustment bv a screw 25. The collar 20 has holes for engagement by a suitable tool. A cap 27 non- rotatably connected to the plug may have a finger piece 28 or a lever type of handle 29.
