Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; tread projections and surfaces.-A cushion tyre is formed with inner and outer pairs of load-supporting walls separated by V-section spaces with their apices towards the tread. Fig. 1 shows such a tyre the walls 3, 4 being united by a single tread 9 having staggered side recesses 10. Figs. 4 and 5 show a modification in which the walls 46 are carried by two narrow treads A which are connected by spaced webs 34. Recesses 35 are formed in the treads A, ribs 38, 39 respectively being moulded in these recesses and in the cavities 33 between the webs 34. The base-portions of the tyre are formed with lips to receive plates 30 which are clamped to the rim by bolts 31. Specification 180,637 is referred to.
