Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; rims.- To simplify the moulding of tyres of the " band " type having one or more circumferential air cavities, they are formed in two or more sections, each vulcanized to a separate foundation-band. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, the tyre comprises two parts 1, 2 forming air-spaces 5, 5<a>, the foundationbands 3, 4 being lap-jointed at 6 and mounted on a split corner-ring 14. Fig. 9 shows a modification comprising three tyre elements 1, 2, 7 on base bands 3. 4. 8, with transverse air-cavities 13 leading from the circumferential spaces 9. The meeting faces of the tyre elements may be connected by cold vulcanization and may be formed to interlock.
