Tread projections and surfaces. - The tread of a solid or cushion tyre is curved in cross-section preferably to the arc of a circle and formed with spaced recesses 1, 2 which extend from the centre line of the tread alternately to either side. The sloping sides of the tyre are formed with similarly-spaced deep cavities 6, 7.
