Abstract

194,486. Foster, C. Jan. 26, 1922. Belt fastenings.-A fastening for motor-cycle belts comprises a pair of U-shaped end pieces a and a connecting link consisting of two rollers d with reduced ends connected together by a pair of taper steel side plates e secured on the reduced parts by splaying or riveting the ends thereof. Leather buffers or protecting pieces f are frictionally secured to the side plates e by the insertion of snap-head rivets g into axial holes bored through the rollers. The rollers bear in the bent end of the U-shaped members and are enclosed by back caps b with lugs b<1> engaging holes in the U-shaped members. The U-shaped members may be bent to suit the curvature of the pulley.
