Abstract

444,080. Belt fastenings ; hinges. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Flexible Steel Lacing Co.; 4607, Lexington Street, Chicago, U.S.A.) Nov. 30, 1934, No. 34427. [Class 80 (i)] [See also Group XXV] A connecting link B is passed through apertures in U-shaped clips 11 secured to the belt ends by large flat pins 14 and smaller brads 15, and the ends of the link secured by rocker pins D embedded in the belt material and abutting against the clips. Each pin comprises two members 19, 20, with concentric cylindrical portions to fit in bearings C at each side of the link B. The ends of the member 19 are shouldered to prevent relative axial displacement of the members, and the concentric cylindrical portions prevent relative lateral displacement. The member 20 is formed with a flat 118 to engage inside the apertured end of the link. Each bearing C has a flat 117 to engage the clip 11 and a lip 217 to enter the aperture therein. A rubber block E may be provided on the link B to maintain the tension while the fastening passes round a pulley and to exclude dirt from the apertures in the clips 11.
