Abstract

539,649. Belt fastenings. POLLARD. H., and POLLARD, E. June 24, 1940, No. 10781. [Class 80 (i)] Consists in a fastening for V- or other non- circular section belts having a flexible and substantially inextensible core of circular section surrounded by rubber compound or other flexible material. To each end of the core a is secured, by a cross-pin h, a socket c each socket having a web portion c'. Each web portion has a transverse hole through it into which is tightly fitted a sleeve d of length slightly greater than the thickness of the web. The two web portions are connected by side links e the inner faces of which bear against the ends of the sleeves, and headed pivot pins f passing through the sleeves and links are retained in position by a forked spring clip or plate g.
