Abstract
657,209. Sliding clasp fasteners. JUB, A. Feb. 9, 1949, No. 3575. Convention date, July 31, 1948. [Class 44] A sliding clasp fastener shown in sections at right angles in Figs. 3 and 4 comprises a pair of flexible strips 3, 3<1> e.g. of leqther, rubber or the like, one being furnished with a series of headed studs 1 for engagement in a series of holes 2 in the other under the action of a sliding clasp 10 having converging guideways 11, 12 receiving the strips 3, 3<1> respectively. The guideways are laterally open on opposite sides to pass the bands 4, 4<1> connected to the strips and are arranged to lie parallel and adjacent each other at one end and by an S curve of one of them to lie parallel but spaced apart a distance greater than the length of the stud at the other. The walls 15, 16, of the guideway 12 are slotted at 20, 19 to pass the studs. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes an arrangement whereby the strips may be completely separated. The strip 3<1>, Fig. 6 (Cancelled) which retains the slider (not shown), carries a U-shaped bracket 25 to receive a clip 24 secured to the end of the other strip 3. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
