Abstract

418,515. Driving - belts ; fasteners. CROFT, A., c/o Crofts (Engineers), Ltd., Thornbury, Bradford, Yorkshire. April 26, 1933, No. 12137. [Class 80 (i).] A belt-fastener comprises two cross bars 4, 4<a> having inclined faces f, g to engage the belt ends a, b, the bare being secured together by bolts 3. The bars have enlarged ends w tc hold friction surfaces 3d to engage the sides 5 of a V-pulley. The bolts may be retained by spring-washers 7. The belt may comprise a number of ordinary pairs of thrust bars, on one side of which and of the fastener bars a flat belt may be secured for engaging a cylindrical pulley. The belt may be of leather, fabric, or rubber, and the cross bars of wood or metal.
