Abstract

417,982. Positive - driving bands. P. I. V., KETTEN UND GETRIEBE GES., 3, Industriestrasse, Bad Homburg-von-der-H÷he, Germany. March 16, 1934, No. 8310. Convention date, March 16, 1933. [Classes 80 (i) and 80 (ii).] In a power-transmission chain of the kind described in Specifications 242,416 and 335,366, [both in Class 80 (i)], the laminations of the teeth are supported by end laminations adapted to perform a rocking, tilting or rolling motion, without sliding, on the supporting surface of the chain member. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the end-laminations 13 have roof-shaped surfaces adapted to rock on the ends of the slots in the links 2. The laminations are rocked so as to be approximately aligned with the radial grooves on the driving pulley by the corners 20 of the links engaging the end-laminations. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the laminations are aligned by plates 24 mounted on the ends of the pivot pins 23 which are of oval section so that the pull in the belt maintains their major axes in a direction bisecting the angle between the links thus locating the plates 24. To prevent the laminations from coming out their lower edges are recessed to engage springs (not shown) secured to the lower edges of the links.
