Abstract
487,729. Driving belts. KELLENBERGER, L., (trading as KELLENBERGER & CO., L.) July 20, 1937, No. 20020. Convention date, July 28, 1936. [Class 80 (i)] Continuous belts 11 for variable-speed expanding-pulley gearing are spaced apart by rigid bars 6 with open ends to receive the belts. The bars 6 may be solid, as shown, or they may be formed in two parts secured together by screws 9, and they may be secured to a central belt 7. The common central belt may also be a V-belt or a chain. The edges 4, 5 of the openings may be rounded. Belts with one side vertical and only the driving face inclined may be employed. Two belts, one above the other may be used on each side, the driving surfaces being in alignment with each other and conforming to the conicity of the pulleys.
