1,233,890. Securing pulleys &c. on shafts. J. H. FENNER & CO. Ltd. 9 June, 1970 [10 June, 1969], No. 29378/69. Heading F2U. A member such as a pulley 10 is secured on a shaft by a split conical sleeve 14 through screws 24 engaging threaded and plain half holes 16, 20 in the respective members, a double-acting abutment 18 on one of the members allowing the screws to act in either direction to engage or release the sleeve 14. As shown the screws 24 consist of threaded end portions 26 connected by intermediate reduced portions 28, and the sides of abutments 18 are conical to engage similar surfaces at the ends of portions 28. Alternatively the central portions of the screws may be enlarged to engage recessed abutments.
